Collaboration with ICRISAT on Policy Communications and Innovation Platforms Training Workshop

On 23 April 2018, the Abuja Office of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) collaborated with the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) to deliver a training workshop on Policy communications and Innovation Platforms in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State.

The training workshop was attended by 40 participants (37 males, three females) from Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto states. The participants were representatives of State ministries of agriculture, local government agriculture desk, NGOs, agro-dealers and community-based organizations from all five states.

The activity was geared towards increasing the national capacity of relevant actors in Nigeria’s agricultural sector to engage effectively in discussions on agricultural policy at all levels.

This activity was carried out by IFPRI under the framework of the Feed the Future Nigeria Agricultural Policy Project, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development and jointly implemented by IFPRI’s Nigeria Strategy Support Program and Michigan State University.
